An opportunity to learn about the 'nuts and bolts' of asset development 

Drawing on the expertise of the Development Trusts Association and the Asset Transfer Unit in supporting community organisations and local authorities, this course aims to disseminate our learning across the voluntary & community sector.

Purpose

Participants gain a thorough understanding of all aspects of asset transfer and the wider asset development process to support asset transfer in their own localities and to work with local authorities and other voluntary and community organisations.

Audience

The course is aimed at:

  • National, regional and local voluntary & community sector infrastructure organisations
  • Councils for Voluntary Service and local Change Up partnerships
  • Regional social enterprise agencies 
  • SKiLD (Skills & Knowledge in Local Development) workers
  • Members of the Rural Community Action Network
  • We are particularly seeking participation from BME groups

Pilot

Run as a pilot for 20 participants over five days in July and October 2009, with very positive feedback from participants, and with a waiting list for 2010, plans are in progress to investigate accreditation.
